Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. She's been honored by film producers for roles like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, like an Oscar for the movie Piano. She began her career as an actor on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. Since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. She became deaf in one ear due to the mumps virus, however she did not have this limitation deter her desire to be an actress. She was a drama major at the college, and then moved from Pittsburgh into New York City to follow her goals. Hunter had her Broadway debut when she had a chance meeting with Beth Henley, a playwright. Both of them collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving in Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and scored an acting role as a support as a character Swing Shift. In the three decades since then, she has appeared on several TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star along with the Women in Film Lucy Award.
